Light layers are exactly what I’m shopping for this Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I love finding versatile pieces that work for now and later. Do you remember this similar lace pullover from this post last year?! Well this lace pullover is the new version of it. I love how beautifully the marriage of blue and black is for this top and striped button down underneath. The stripes bring out that floral detail far more than I expected they would. I’m wearing it now with a cami underneath and later with this reversible stipe top and this classic blazer.
Also, may I please direct your attention this this Rebecca Minkoff bag? During my dressing room diaries post I found this bag to go with almost everything I tried on. The colors and print make this a great statement bag for Fall.
It’s no secret that I’ve had a long standing crush on Alice and Olivia. Stacey Bendet’s designs impress me season after season. I love her whimsical style equally as much I do her staple pieces. Case in point, this jumpsuit for it’s chic simplicity. The bold stripes give it a contemporary edge, but overall it is a classic piece that is certain to be here to stay for years to come. Plus horizontal stripes are super elongating, which makes this piece flattering on both tall and petite frames. I’ll throw a blazer over this gem on cooler days (aka ANYWHERE but Houston anytime soon) and layer a long sleeve button down underneath with booties for a slick fall transition.
All black dominated the red carpet at the Academy Awards and for more compelling reasons than current trends. I loved the bold statement. Girl power dominated, the speeches were empowering and fashion on point. It’s been inspiring to see so many women stand together on social media the past few days too. Lucky for me, I don’t have a #metoo story for y’all, but I do have some all black fashion inspiration from over the past year or so! You can still shop these looks below.
There’s still time to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Early access for Nordstrom cardmembers is over and everybody can shop the sale starting today. We wanted to recap our favorite outfits from the sale, in case you missed them on the blog and Instagram. More outfits and restock alerts to come, so be sure to check back over the next week!

Talk about a statement this feather bag and sparkly clutch really need no explanation.
Heya!! Who’s ready for light layers this fall? It’s still pretty hot in Houston, but I’m finding ways to sneak in blazers and jackets at least for the first part of the day. Today’s moto is a favorite for fall now it’s on sale! The other day I layered it over a light lacy top to avoid totally overheating. But when the temps finally drop, I think this lace top would be super cute over a striped button down or this one (blogged here).
Also, we found a great selection of moto jackets and they’re all on sale here as well as a wide selection of lace tops and black totes, in case you’re updating your wardrobe for fall. And dont forget this perfect “mom heel” by Pedro Garcia. I could run a mile in these shoes, they’re that comfortable! See his collection here, which is also part of Shopbop’s BIG annual sale–don’t miss out!

Women’s clothing/shoes/accessories always go FAST (like some pieces in the first 24 hours!) so today we’re bringing you our top 30 picks from the sale. If I could only grab 5 things though, it would be #5 (Alice + Olivia blazer), #6 (ruffle top), #19 (Tibi dress), #20 (cropped skinny jeans) and #30 (Vince loafer).
#1 J. Crew blazer | I buy a new J. Crew blazer every fall (the fit is great and they are timeless) and I’m in love with this plaid blazer is perfectly fall.
#2 Vince bomber jacket | Bomber jackets are still all the rage. I love this versatile layering piece by Vince. Blogged a similar one here. A great fall transition piece that I’ll rock with a striped tee now and a turtleneck sweater later.

#5 Alice + Olivia tuxedo jacket (in store only) | This lush velvet blazer is going to be on repeat this fall. I love it with denim for a girls night out and will also dress it up for holiday parties. Maybe over a maxi skirt or with a leather legging.
#6 Chelsea28 Bell sleeve top | Bell sleeves have ben on trend for a while not, and it appears they’re not going anywhere this Fall. It’s a flirty way to dress up distressed jeans and loafers.
#7 Equipment sweater | This striped sweater works for all seasons, thank cool beach night, fall football game, etc. It’s a no brainer. I also love this cold shoulder sweater (not pictured above) by Rag & Bone that is a little trendier/dressier.
#8 Halogen tie front top | This top would be so cute underneath a shift dress or a sweater and I love it on it’s own with denim and these Vince loafers too.
#9 Topshop faux leather skirt| I haven’t seen a navy leather that I like this much and the price is right! I kind of want everything from Topshop including this color block cardigan (not pictured above). This easy piece is going to be my new airport outfit, layered over a white tee with jeans and sneakers.
#11 Alo workout leggings | I’m so frugal when it comes to buying things like exercise attire, pajamas and socks. Ha! So if there’s a sale, I’m all over it. This pair is super cute too!
#12 Rag & Bone leather legging | Leather pants are a wardrobe staple but pricey so if you can snag a good investment piece on sale this is the time.

#14 Current/Elliott uneven hem jeans | I always need to stock up on a few staples like denim during a big sale. These uneven hem are a good price and a great addition to my denim collection.
#16 Chelsea28 pleated velvet skirt | I’m having a major moment with mustard. This pleated skirt is so rad. I think paired with a white button down and pumps or booties would look so classic. For an edgier look pair with a black sweater and booties.

#18 Rag & Bone stripe dress | This stripe dress is perfect to layer with a blazer or a button down underneath. Pair with pumps or flats or booties.
#19 Tibi midi dress | I cannot believe this classic Tibi style is on sale. This dress is season-less. It works with a white or nude sandal during the spring and summer, with a bootie or closed toe pump during cooler weather months. The silhouette is feminine and flattering, classic Tibi at it’s best.
#20 Frame split hem jeans | Split hem jeans are very popular right now and I think they are a fun, more put together alternative to distressed jeans.

#27 Halogen slide loafer $59!| I love slide loafers because they are so easy to pair with skirts or denim and super easy to get on and off. These being a perfect color nude will be a staple in my closet for sure. And they come in black, silver and nude–one of each please!
#28 Dolce Vita bootie | I’ve seen the white bootie for a few seasons now and it’s time to pull the trigger. The never wear white after Labor Day rule need not apply. I think these will take you through winter paired with denim and a sweater.
#29 Vince sneaker | It’s time to replace my Vince sneakers that I scored last year during the sale. I pair sneakers with anything and everything these days and they’re perfect for chasing kiddos around. These also come in satin for the first time this season which is really cool looking in person!
#30 Vince suede loafer | These are already in my cart. Im a big fan of loafers and these will carry me though next spring for sure.
Hi guys! I’ve recently started posting my everyday mirror selfies on Instagram Stories. A lot of times these outfits don’t even make it to the blog because sponsored posts take priority, which means mostly new outfits are blogged. But I throw on older outfits all of the time and most often mix new seasonal pieces with staples that I’ve had for a while.
I’ve received so many questions and positive feedback from my Insta outfits that I decided to try out this new series with outfit details from my daily iPhone photos. I want y’all to see how I style different pieces multiple ways; how I take a top from day to night or why white culottes, for example, make sense for your wardrobe. I’d love to hear if you like this post idea or not. And more than anything, I hope this brings you some outfit inspiration when you open the closet door tomorrow morning.
Lace, lace, lace, it’s all over the place! Tops, bombers, sweaters, shorts, skirts, you name it, it’s lace. I really haven’t met a lace I didn’t like case in point the most beautiful dress I ever did wear – my wedding dress was a lace bodice ballgown. This lace tunic (on sale!) can easily be paired with denim, these A&O shorts or even a darker leather number down the road for fall.
I love the detail and the navy blue color. Navy and white is a staple color combo for spring like black and white are for fall. It is a perfect statement piece that can really be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. I wore this exact outfit to a block party and then to dinner with my kids and I fully intend to jazz it up with a pump or a dressy sandal for a dinner date out.
One another note, did you notice my new Chloe bag? Ladies this bag is so hot it is only carried in at one store (for pre-order) and it is sold out at Chloe. I snagged this gem in Vegas. It’s definitely the IT bag for spring. Did I mention it is a crossbody bag, as well? So it can transition easily from day to night. And quite possibly my favorite feature, the bracelet handle. That’s one less accessory needed for the wrist, y’all!
