Hey guys! We just got back to Houston from a whirlwind week of travel to see family for the holiday. I’m pretty exhausted, but am also feeling pretty energized about the next month’s worth of content on L. Avenue. We’ve got gift guides and giveaways galore, plus lots of holiday outfit inspiration!

Today we’re beyond excited to participate in Small Business Saturday with some of our favorite small businesses. I love working with small businesses, and have gotten to know the owners of all of the brands we’re featuring today! Please help continue to support our favorite small businesses today and year round!

Mignonne Gavigan About 5 minutes into blogging I met Maggie, founder and owner of Mignonne Gavigan, an accessories collection that started with what is now a cult favorite scarf necklace. I was in NYC for my first NYFW and Maggie welcomed me into her gorgeous Soho showroom to show me around. I probably had 2,000 Insta followers and she still took time to meet with me and introduce me her to line. I’ve been such a fan girl ever since. She’s also a new mom and continues to kick total a$$ at running her accessories line.

BURU I also met Morgan Hutcheson, founder of BURU, very early into blogging. Morgan’s fashion sense is A+ and she continues to rock heels while mothering two kiddos! Fun fact, we were pregnant with our sons at the same time–We went from drinking martinis at Fashion Week in February and in May our text messages crossed paths in Cyberspace announcing the pregnancy news to each other! Morgan has done such an amazing job curating an awesome collection on her website for Moms during pregnancy, post baby and beyond. She’s my go-to for fashion inspo. Morgan is a talented, fashion force to be reckoned with, as her business has grown and evolved and she’s now got her own label BURU White Label, with gorgeous, functional, on trend pieces that won’t break the bank!

Splendor Made by Carrie Colbert Another Houston blogger boss and my dear friend, Carrie Colbert, just recently launched Splendor Made. Don’t miss Carrie’s beautiful coffee table book, More Color Please, featuring the colorful walls of Houston! Plus lots of colorful gift ideas too!

Hunter Bell I’ve been such a fan of this contemporary line that is edgy, flirty, feminine and whimsical all at the same time. I have so many fun memories wearing special pieces by this talented designer–sequin blazers, floral lace appliqué maxi dresses, mosaic print dresses-to name a few! I met Hunter when she was based in NYC and I’m excited to say Hunter Bell is now a Houston based brand. Hunter is one of the most talented designers I know and she does it all with 3 under 2!

Cuteheads Esther Freedman, founder of Cuteheads, is a local Houstonian and mother to two precious daughters. Her kids clothing line has been a favorite of mine since it’s inception. Esther is one of the most interesting, dynamic women I’ve ever met, you just want to hang with her for hours upon meeting her for the first time! Her collections get bigger and better every season and I’m so proud to call her my friend!

The Beaufort Bonnet Company This small business started in 2012, a good year I might add, also the same year my first child was born! It’s been awesome to watch this brand grow over the past few years, now carried in over 300 stores! I’ve loved putting my babies in bonnets from BB, but as the line has grown they’ve launched the most adorable outfits, accessories and my absolute favorite pajamas! Don’t miss shopping with BB online today with 40% off!

Rachel Riley Most of my kids special occasion outfits come from British based children’s designer, Rachel Riley. Traditional, beautiful pieces with smocking, ruffles, pleats and special details you don’t see on a lot of today’s children’s clothing. Rachel’s designs are classic and so well made; outfits that I hope will be passed down to my grandkids and beyond.

Lumilla Mingus Lauren spotted Lumilaa Mingus at a trunk show in Houston and I’ve been a huge fan of the brand ever since. California based, Lulu Eschelman, makes chic, timeless, and truly functional bags every season. She does a limited number of designs though, so be sure to sign up to find out about upcoming collections.

Paris Texas Apparel We can’t leave out menswear can we?! Houston based brand, Paris Texas  is a go to for gift giving, with ties, men’s shirts and great guayaberas galore!

If you’re a store shopper (I do plenty of in-store shopping believe it or not!) and you’re in Houston, please support my favorite local Houston boutiques: Longoria Collection (my favorite for interiors!), BAANOU, Tootsies, Monkees, Miles David, Paris Texas Apparel, Cakewalk and Hamilton Shirts and The Itsy Bitsy Boutique to name a few! All of these stores also sell through Instagram so be sure to follow them!
