I recently wrote one of the first beauty specific posts for L. Avenue and received a lot of great feedback. The post focused on highlighting a line I discovered and have been loyal to during my pregnancy, Juice Beauty. Read more about Juice Beauty’s all natural, organic skincare and make-up line here. After posting, I received a lot of questions about my daily beauty and skincare regimen. It’s great to educate ourselves with product reviews, but to me there’s so much more utility if you get to see exactly how each products plays a role into an ongoing routine. I know I’ve been victim to the “see it, sounds good, buy it” mantra with make-up and skincare. And then I get home and can’t remember when or how to apply the product and then shortly thereafter it ends up on the island of misfit (aka unused) beauty products. So here goes nothing. Hopefully, if y’all know exactly what products I use and when it will help you make decisions about which products to incorporate into your daily routine.
Here’s a run-down of my Juice Beauty skincare and make-up regimen…
A.M. Skin | My friend and beauty blogger told me she credited overdrawing to washing the face too much and so I’ve been trying out only splashing water on my face in the morning. It’s working, so now I only use facial cleanser once daily. I start with GREEN APLLE Brightening SPF 15 Moisturizer. I love that I can moisturize and knock out SPF all in one simple step. And it’s not greasy like most SPF moisturizers I’ve tried.
A.M. Make-up | I don’t always have time for full on make-up in the morning. Strike that, I never have time. On a good day, I won’t leave the house without applying the Stem Cellular CC Cream. I have a lot of skin pigmentation from summer sun and pregnancy and the cc cream covers naturally but effectively. I haven’t slept as well during this pregnancy and the Phyto-Pigments Perfecting Concealer blends seamlessly under the eyes on sleep deprived days.
I carry the PHYTO-PIGMENTS Satin Lip Cream and PHYTO-PIGMENTS Ultra-Natural Mascara in the glovebox of my car. Random, right? Typically, the first chance I get for mascara is sitting in the carpool line. As far as I know, make-up application hasn’t been banned in carpool lines. Wink, wink.
Mascara and lip gloss/stick are the two products I need to feel like a functioning human being each day. I swear just a little make-up on the eye and lip is an instant confidence booster. Not to mention the lip color is made with a serum that’s also super hydrating. My lips have never felt softer. And the Phyto-Pigments Ultra Natural Mascara gives my tired lashes volume without clumping or smudging.
MID-DAY | I carry a travel size bottle of the Hydrating Mist to spray on throughout the day whenever my skin needs a little pick-me-up.
P.M. | I cleanse my face at nighttime only with the Stem Cellular 2-in-1 Cleanser, then apply the Stem Cellular Anti-Wrinkle Eye Treatment, Stem Cellular Anti-Wrinkle Booster Serum, followed by the Stem Cellular Anti-Wrinkle Overnight Cream
*Once or twice a week I use the Green Apple Peel Pregnancy. This peel is awesome because it exfoliates, brightens and tones safely during pregnancy. My skin has been super sensitive, and it’s the only peel I’ve tried that’s soothing to the skin.
Post-baby I might only be lucky enough to find time to wash my face for the first few months. I’ll check back in with y’all with the new Juice Beauty products I try once we find a new normal in our soon-to-be party of 5.
