The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is still going strong and we’re bringing you the best deals under $100 today! I wish I could have 1 of each but ended up narrowing it down to #1–the suede heels (blogged here), #14 (blogged here), #17 (a no brainer for fall!), #23 (I bought in black because they didn’t have my size), #24 (the best travel compact hands down, and a great gift idea, and #32 (the most comfortable shoe!). In case you’re starting your Christmas shopping early this year, #16 is a great personalized gift idea and the make-up options (#24, #26 and #34) are super great gifts too!
We kicked off summer with a last minute trip to Aspen with girlfriends and kiddos. All in, our group was 8 mamas and 10 kids, so a little too large for a house rental. Plus, we threw this together within weeks of the trip date. After some quick internet research, we found great rates and accommodations at The Gant, Aspen. The Gant was super kid-friendly and accommodating of our large field trip sized group. We broke up into smaller groups and stayed in condos next to each other. Kind of like Melrose Place but without the drama. Ha! The Gant had two great pools for kids, tennis for mamas and a small cafe with prepared meals and provisions in case you didn’t plan for a grocery store run.
Embroidery is everything right now and when I found stripes and embroidery at Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale I knew I needed to give it a whirl. This button down is so easy to wear over denim or leggings. I love it for an easy airport look or to bop around town in this summer/fall. I would also wear it unbuttoned over a v-neck tee tucked into skinny jeans to function as a light jacket/outer layer. In Houston that’s all I’ll need until November. Yikes! I’m rocking it today with this go-to Madewell tote that’s also on sale. This bag makes my Christmas gift guide EVERY year because it’s just that good!
Hi and a very happy Friday! I’m so thrilled to be staying put in Houston this weekend. I plan to find a proper place for everything in my new house, get a car wash and celebrate a good friend’s birthday here in town. What’s up with you? Enjoy these five finds from around the web!
For all the coffee lovers, care to make your own batch of cold brew?
Lots of people advocate for living by a personal mantra, but I prefer this idea of making several personal commandments to live by.
This red raincoat is on sale and sort of necessary for the perpetual afternoon showers hitting Houston.
My sis does abstract art! Shop her site or work with her on a custom commission.
For all those still mourning the loss of Sex and the City, The Bold Type may cure your blues.
There’s still time to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Early access for Nordstrom cardmembers is over and everybody can shop the sale starting today. We wanted to recap our favorite outfits from the sale, in case you missed them on the blog and Instagram. More outfits and restock alerts to come, so be sure to check back over the next week!
Hands down, this was my favorite outfit from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. You can rock it with a leather skirt and suede wedge heels this Fall too. Or simply underneath a blazer with denim and loafers. It’s easy to pair with these slides for day and studded heels for night. A timeless top you’ll wear a lot!
I’m having a major mustard moment when it comes to my wardrobe. I found this lightweight sweater on day 1 of #nsale and packed it for my trip to Santa Barbara. I love that it’s flowy and oversized but doesn’t totally swallow me. The flare sleeves and lace-up detail are deliciously trendy too.
My sneakers are Vince’s newest style, a blue satin that’s pretty rad. Vince sneakers are a wardrobe staple of mine and satin was pretty unexpected and totally accepted in the statement sneaker world.
Light layers are exactly what I’m shopping for this Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I love finding versatile pieces that work for now and later. Do you remember this similar lace pullover from this post last year?! Well this lace pullover is the new version of it. I love how beautifully the marriage of blue and black is for this top and striped button down underneath. The stripes bring out that floral detail far more than I expected they would. I’m wearing it now with a cami underneath and later with this reversible stipe top and this classic blazer.
Also, may I please direct your attention this this Rebecca Minkoff bag? During my dressing room diaries post I found this bag to go with almost everything I tried on. The colors and print make this a great statement bag for Fall.
Hey, hey! We skipped town for Disneyland today (travel shenanigans with 3 under 5 on Insta Stories!) and I’m so bummed I didn’t pack this new top for our trip. After working around the clock for the launch of Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale I found myself 24 hours prior to departure for a family trip to California. Zero packing complete. Which means packing 5 suitcases and everything that a baby needs away from his nest in a major hurry. Hence my personal packing focus was lacking and I basically threw in whatever was at the front of the closet late last night.
This top comes in black and white stripe and blue and white stripe and I bought both. It’s that good. It’s $50 and the material is surprisingly really nice. This #nsale top is a great wardrobe staple and the ruffle detail adds a touch of trend to the mix. Perfect to wear now and into Fall with a cardigan and booties.
I’m in Estes Park this weekend for a wedding, and I’m pretty sold on summering in Colorado. For a Texan who is used to temperatures over 100, morning walks in the mountains and afternoon bike rides are absolute bliss. I hope you find yours this weekend!
For pool and beach approved beverages, I’m getting on the canned cocktail bandwagon.
