All bets are off…

The clock is winding down before this baby will be here. From the get go I was certain this baby would be early. I was deemed “high risk” because my fluid has been low with both prior pregnancies and I had to go on hospital bed rest when I was pregnant with Charlotte. Of course, the second you proclaim your confidence in any future outcome that truly isn’t in your control it goes the opposite of the way you planned. Especially when it comes to life events as unpredictable as pregnancy can be. The only certainty with this pregnancy is that my C-section is scheduled for early November if I don’t run out of fluid (can’t help but laugh when I talk about fluid, makes me feel like a car or something!) or go into labor between now and then.

Odds on the gender…

I’ve also been pretty confident about my gut feeling on this baby’s gender. I’ve been thinking boy from day 1, so it will be pretty hilarious if this baby ends up being a girl. It’s so hard NOT to be confident this baby is a boy. Case in point-everyone I know (except Bret) thinks I’m having a boy. If you hear something enough you can’t help but start to believe it’s true. Further evidence shows that there are girls being born all around our circle of friends and family and zero boys. When gender odds are 50-50 and everyone you know is rolling pink, the dice has to roll blue at some point. So I’m going all in on blue this time around. Which means this baby is for sure going to be a girl now, right?! Either way, I’m super excited, anxious, nervous, happy to be on the verge of bringing a new baby into this world.

Trend alert | military tops

I’m still rocking non-maternity button downs and have been on the lookout for the ever trendy soon-to-be classic military top. This top’s buttons are about to pop, so I’m wearing it as often as I can until I have to retire it to the post-baby wardrobe. How cool is the embroidery detail?! It’s also great worn unbuttoned as a lightweight jacket over a tee or turtleneck.

Here are some other military inspired pieces I’m loving this season…

overalls two ways with HATCH

September 27, 2016

I’ve mentioned my baby bump styling strategy to y’all quite a few times before. I don’t see the point in going all out on a brand new maternity wardrobe when it’s such a short time in the grand scheme of things. Instead, I gravitate towards pieces that work well during and after pregnancy; shift dresses, caftans, drawstring pants, oversized sweaters, capes, button down tops a size or two bigger, and pretty much anything flowy tends to work well.

All that being said, there’s one maternity brand that totally gets it when it comes to designing awesome pieces that I’ll actually want to wear long after the baby comes. Hatch has been a maternity favorite of mine, and pretty much my only go-to maternity line. Mostly because the collection doesn’t feel like a traditional maternity line. I lived in Hatch’s chambray overalls when I was pregnant with Charlotte, and when I saw this pair I knew I was ready to rock some fun overalls for this pregnancy too.

I think overalls are pretty unexpected when it comes to maternity outfits, which is part of the reason I was even more excited about this navy pinstripe pair. I’m carrying this baby super low and pants and shorts are pretty uncomfortable. The overall is a total winner in terms of comfort and they’re super versatile too. I’m showing y’all how to wear them two ways today, but also including two additional outfits I’ve put together for my overalls-one with slides and one with sneakers. My high heels days are pretty numbered at this point.View More Hatch google images: http://traciling.pass.us/lyndseyblog2 View More Zimmerman Clutch google images: http://traciling.pass.us/lyndseyblog2
