4 eyes.

How was the holiday weekend?! Mine wasn’t long enough and I’m packing two weeks of to do’s into the next four days gearing up for New York Fashion Week. I’ve never been in September and I’m honestly not sure what the NYFW street style will be like but I’ll report back (follow Insta or Snaps) in case you’re curious. Last NYFW was spent #freezingforfashion and I rocked spring’s newest piece, a coat only serving (hello, we can’t hide our pretty patterned dress now can we?!) I’m so ready to rock furs, leather and everything fall but am curious what the masses will be wearing since it’s still going to be hot in the City. I’m pretty sure anything goes so I’ll be throwing all of my favorites, old and new into the suitcase (or 3) and

I don’t miss Ohio winters, but what us Houstonians call winter can be pretty unpredictable. Lately, it’s been really cold in the morning and warms up to tee shirt weather by midday. I know, I know, if you live in a colder climate you are probably shaking your head no fair. Don’t worry, you’ll have the last laugh when I post sweaty photos in August and you are enjoying patio weather. Annnyway, I’ve been doing a lot of smart layering these days. Wearing a soft tee or blouse under a sweater is perfect since there’s not often a chance for an outfit change during the day. The layer under the sweater is clutch for more than just temp changes. I don’t know about you, but most sweaters are itchy! Even the really fancy cashmere gems (this being the softest I’ve found) tend to irritate my skin a bit. My Dad would attribute this sentiment to my being a pansy. According to my family, I’ve been complaining about itchy clothes since I was still in diapers. (And a laundry list of other ridiculous annoyances.) Aside from all of the practical reasons to layer, don’t you just love how a simple sweater gets kicked up a notch with a fun button down. Business on top, party underneath! Ha.
