Ok, this gift guide may be a little self serving….it’s “for her.” You know the special ladies in your life–Mom, sisters, wives, girlfriends, etc. And maybe a little something for you too! And thanks to Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales (find our sale round-up here!) most of these gems are on sale!
Some of the things I pulled into this guide I own, some are at the top of my wish list and others are just tried and true great gifts! I hope you enjoy and forward on to anybody looking for a little gift giving inspo.
As far as GREAT gifts go, this Madewell tote is a no brainer. My friends ask me to send gift ideas to their hubby’s every year (this gift guide might be a great hint for your hubs!) and the Madewell tote has been requested a lot over the years! You can never go wrong with the gift of beauty and this lip gloss set is one of my faves. I’m also obsessed with Tom Ford lipstick (not featured in photo below) which is splurge which is why it makes a great gift, since I’m not as inclined to buy it for myself as often. Pink Dusk is my go-to shade and I swear it looks good on every single one of my friend’s who have borrowed a little swipe from me. Also, a new pair of on trend kicks is a great gift and these Adidas sneaks are having a major fashion moment.
And as far as gifts on my list this year, the Dyson hair dryer is getting a lot of hype. We bought one for my mother-in-law for her birthday and I’m super envious of this newest technology in the hair world. Also topping my list, a new pair of wellies, this light pink pair is a new color although I don’t yet own any Hunter boots and am kind of inclined to go for classic red! I’m always on the hunt for new sunnies and this pair looks so chic.
With the awesome madness approaching that is the holidays, let’s take one stresser out of the equation now, shall we? The Christmas party wardrobe. I think the holidays are the perfect excuse to go all out on fun festive frocks. So, the L. Avenue team has been stalking the internet for weeks to bring you our favorite holiday party outfits. Today, we’re featuring our favorite Christmas dresses. These gems will have you rockin’ around the Christmas tree in style!
I’m “in between sizes” this season aka the post baby bod is far from my typical size. My girls still think I have another baby in my belly, ha! So I’m all about the usual suspects that I gravitated to during pregnancy, shift dresses and anything flowy. #3, #7, #8 (my favorite!) and #15 fit the bill quite nicely.
When it comes to holiday decorating, which team are you on? Team get it up early and enjoy it for months or team first things first, let’s get through Halloween and maybe even Thanksgiving. Mostly because I’m a procrastinator, I belong on the latter group. But this year on L. Avenue, we’re swinging early and often.
Because it’s our goal to bring y’all useful gift guides, style ideas and decorating inspiration, today’s as good a day as any to get the ball rolling. And because next week is Thanksgiving (OMG, what?!), even if your sporting the wait til’ after Turkey Day team colors, by the time you figure out your holiday decorating plans, it’ll be high time to trim the tree!
Here are a few of our favorite Christmas decorations from around the web.
A few of the things that made the list, I actually own. I break out the Williams Sonoma kitchen towels in red and green stripe every year. They are my favorite and add a little festive cheer to mundane kitchen cleaning chores. I also own Williams Sonoma’s plaid coffee mugs and even bought the girls a set for their version of coffee (chocolate milk!). Plaid mug coffee talk has now become a fun Christmas tradition of ours.
When it comes to decorating my house, there are two things I love to collect. The Nambe manger scene is one. My mother-in-law gifted this to me last Christmas and I love it. You can add a piece to the collation each year, but I love this grouping as a starter set. A great gift idea for someone you buy for every year. Like your mother-in- law. 🙂 I also recently started collecting these gorgeous Simon Pierce Christmas trees which look so pretty mixed in with small glass vases and Christmas stems on your table.
I’m hosting a few holiday parties this year and am planning to pull the trigger on these festive champagne flutes. And these cocktail napkins are so great. I tend to have more contemporary taste when it comes to things for the home but love mixing in more traditional pieces too. Especially around he holidays.
And I saved the best pick for last, as I’m all about snuggling up in this festive blanket with my new baby boy all season long!
Cheers to you and yours as we quickly approach the most wonderful time of the year!

It’s been a while since we’ve done a Mom Love Monday on L. Avenue. I’ve missed blogging about everything Mom-centric! I’ve got a lot of really fun collaborations coming up, so you’ll be seeing this series more often in the near future. Mom Love Monday was one of the very first series I ran on my blog and it’s special to me because being a Mom is such a special, integral part of my life.
I’m really excited to collaborate with another Mom entrepreneur today. Atlanta based designer, English Norman, has been silver-smithing and hand-crafting for over 17 years and her name collection caught my attention. You can personalize her gorgeous bangles with important, names, birthdates, anniversaries, etc. I chose to have a bangle made for each of my girls with a custom inscription of their name and birthdate. The bangles are simple enough for everyday and also look great stacked with my other bangles and bracelets. Jewelry is the one thing I rarely buy for myself. It’s personal and I think means more when it comes as a gift. Most of the staple pieces I wear have been gifts from parents, the hubs, friends and family because they mean that much more to me coming from the ones I love. That’s why this collection is such a great gift idea for your favorite people to commemorate the important events in their lives.
Even the most traditional lines get edgy sometimes. A well-know classic, goes modern with the Waterford Rebel Collection.
It’s just about time to break out my Waterford crystal for holiday entertaining, but this year I’ll also be wearing my Waterford too. The Rebel collection is here, Waterford’s first ever jewelry line, and I’m swooning over every piece. Stacking bangles, stud earrings and necklaces that are modern and edgy but still refined and chic at the same time. The stud earrings and bangles (love a mix of the silver + gold) are my new go-to accesscories for everyday, but look amazing when worn with a larger studded cuff for a night on the town. With the holidays around the corner, a Rebel collection piece is the perfect gift idea. It’s new, so even the chicest of gift recipients probably haven’t scored a piece yet, and the prices won’t break the bank either. Or go ahead and treat your inner rebel to what will soon be your new favorite Waterford accessory. Rebel in style….

In the meantime, here are a few of the must-have items that will sell out early…..these flats (that remind me of Chloe flats but are only $64!), this is the biggest sale steal I’ve ever seen for Kendra Scott earrings, I love the rose gold/navy combo, this make-up set is the best girlfriend gift or stocking stuffer, these classic rain boots never go on sale and are over $100 off, speaking of classic boots, I cannot believe that my very favorite classic fall boot is on major sale, and if you’re looking for the perfect go with everything, go anywhere classic bag, this is the one that I’m crushing on, you can never have too many blazers and this $40 blazer comes in a ton of colors and even a stripe pattern and a new pair of cat eye sunnies is always a good idea!
