‘Twas the week before Christmas, and so many of us are still in need of those small gifts that snuck up on us. Whether it’s the hostess with the mostess or someone that just deserves a little something for being good to you, here are five ideas we’re loving for this week’s Friday Five.
I was inspired by my blogger bestie (who was inspired by Oprah) to list some of my favorite things in lieu of a list of the latest and greatest. It is, in fact, the first day of December, so it’s time to round out that Christmas list if you haven’t already.
Mother’s Day is just around the corner. In case you’re searching for a little something special for a very special mama in your life, we’ve got you covered with some of our favorite gifts. When it comes to accessories, I love everything by Mignonne Gavigan. Her pieces are so unique and beautifully made. This necklace is a really rad fashion and art collaboration. And the entire MG site is 25% off right now too!
English Norman’s personalized bangle sare my favorite monogrammed accessories that I’ve received since entering the Mom Club. And you can’t go wrong with flowers, a spa day or wine club membership (my fave!) for Mom either. Sign me up for any and all!
So we’ve scrolled the net far and wide to bring y’all some major gift guide action this holiday season. Here are all of the guides in one fell swoop! So go ahead and knock out the rest of your shopping before you’ll have to pay rush shipping!
If your inbox resembles mine at all, you’ve been inundated with gift guides galore. And if you’re anything like me, you’ve found yourself diverting from your original goal of getting gifts for your people and instead, pinning the perfect things for you.
So, today, I’m listing five things I told Santa I’d like in 2016:
luggage :: My mom has two styles of Bric’s Bellagio luggage, and I’ve always thought they were beautiful. I’d like my own–the carry-on spinner trunk size–in this gorgeous blue cognac.
slides :: The new flat alternative didn’t really pique my interest until I laid eyes on these pink suede ‘Kiltie’ loafers by Jeffrey Campbell exclusively carried by Anthro.
camo :: Two years ago, I was on the hunt (pun intended) for stylish camo gear I could wear even when I wasn’t huddled up in a blind. Now, the neutral print is everywhere, so I’m getting more selective. I like how subtle the camoflauge is on these Rag & Bone pants.
gold :: My Macbook has stayed with me since senior year of high school, so I usually stick to browsing blogs on my iPhone. I’d love a bigger surface to see all my favorite sites, and I think this gold iPad air 2 would do me and my eyeballs just right.
scarf :: In a light wool, this colorful CJW scarf is ‘everything.’ Literally. Seek and you shall find a few of my favorite things like bagel and lox and a glass half full of Pinot Noir.
Two weekend countdown before Christmas is here! Enjoy the merriment while it lasts.
Elf on the Shelf, are y’all in or out? Since my girls are only 4 and 3 we haven’t invited the elf to come and stay at Casa Z just yet. It seems like a lot of work and with a newborn in the house I’m honestly afraid I won’t deliver on the elf’s nightly shenenigans. Traditions are important to me though and I do think kids love the idea of having something to look forward to each day during the holidays. We did chocolate advent calendars last year and every night the girls got to open a new window on the calends. This year, a close family friend who happens to be the wife of the rector at our church gifted us an advent candle holder, so we’re lighting candles at night and reading that day’s corresponding scripture. And I’lll be the first to admit, this hasn’t even happened every day. But on the days we manage to make it happen, the girls are super excited about a new family tradition. One that even us parents can benefit from too.
Now back to more commercial Christmas to do’s. I’ve been behind in the gift department and think this year’s the perfect year to scale it back with a few really awesome gifts that my girls will love. At the top of the list are a doctor set, this colorful ukulele and this craft-struction box. Here’s what little girls are hoping Santa will throw on the sleigh this year.
It’s still surreal that I now have a little boy to buy for at Christmas time. This year, baby Jack won’t need much more than breast milk and cuddles. Although he’s for sure getting some cute new baby clothes and this starter sports set.
Lauren, our fabulous business development guru has 3 boys under age 5 and totally knocked it out of the park with the best boy gifts out there this year. Here is sometheing every little guy will love.
