fall staples for summer temperatures

September is such a tricky time for hot climates like Houston. I am so over my summer wardrobe of light chambrays, nautical stripes and neon brights. But even with the “cold front” that just swept through H-town, it’s still pretty steamy during the heat of the day. How do we dress for fall without sweating our faces off? I’ve found a few transition staples that will be on heavy rotation until the first cold front. This black/gray V-neck tee (pictured below) is perfect. I also love this plaid button down and this sleeveless trench coat. And yes, I’m still rocking white birks (gasp) after Labor Day. If you’re not on board, these flats or these booties will look great too.

I’ve got the sam edleman “petty” bootie on today in a light grey suede! Thanks for making me feel on trend! Can’t quite rock the birks yet, though they look fab on you! xo
