Given the summer-ish conditions, I’m opting for the plaid dress as an alternate to the tried and true plaid button down and denim for fall spirit dressing.
Today’s top is a front runner for Thanksgiving–it’s the perfect “harvest tone” haha, it’s dressy enough but can also be casual with denim and the cut is forgiving enough for extra mashed potatoes. It’s also on sale, so go ahead and lock down your Turkey Day attire.
I’m in love with this Nanette Lepore top for not only the extraordinary lace detail but also this vibrant color. I think this is a stunning color for fall and not one that many gravitate towards.
Two things I can never have enough of in my wardrobe–crisp white shirts and blazers. I found this pretty tie neck and blazer during the Shopbop sale a few weeks ago and love the cut.
Vest weather has finally arrived in Houston. A translation for anybody who doesn’t live here–that mean’s it’s less than 70 degrees outfits. Yippiee!!! I spotted these pink and burgundy fur gems at J. Crew and knew it was a “one of each” moment.
Other vest L. Avenue is coveting this fall.
More Mignonne Gavigan pieces we heart…..
I cannot believe that Halloween is just weeks away. I feel like fall happened faster this year than in the past, maybe it’s because Houston has been catching up from Harvey or maybe it’s because I’m busy juggling these three kiddos and a job. Anyway, I wanted to be proactive about something super duper important…..the Halloween costume!
In lieu of the usual link round-up, I’m featuring five of my favorite fall sweaters I’ve found around the web. As an added bonus, all of these finds are under $100.Continue Reading…

Prior to NYFW I ran by Tootsies on a mission to find a statement piece for my trip. This has become a litte NYFW tradition for me–finding that one piece that’s special, and it’s typically a dress. But this time around I fell in love with a tweed jacket. A subtle statement piece that feels a little rocker (button detail!) but still classic (black and white and structured). I’m confident I’ll wear this gem season after season.
I love this jacket because I can wear it on it’s own as a top or paired with a simple white blouse or tee or even this cami ( ON SALE) underneath. For a dressier occasion, I’d pair with this pencil skirt.
I’m all about accessorizing with a bold bag (yellow Gucci should suffice!) and of course white booties, a new favorite to make the whole outfit come to life. These white booties are a perfect contrast to the black denim and so more exciting and trendy than the typical black bootie or pump. We have seen a wide selection of black and white jackets, white booties and yellow bags at Shopbop.
A few of our favorite fall jackets.
